What Is Vatel?
Established in 1981, Vatel, a global network of hospitality management schools and alumni, now has 50 schools located in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa.
The network of Vatel schools today makes up the 1st Worldwide Business School Group in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Vatel has also been elected as the “Best Hotel Management School” by an international jury composed of professionals in the hospitality industry in the Worldwide Hospitality Awards ceremony.
Strategically located on the campus of City University College of Science and Technology (City UC), Vatel Malaysia prepares students with a stimulating educational experience in the most conducive learning environment equipped with state of the art facilities.
About The Event
VATEL KL Meet & Greet 2020 was an event wholly organised by students taking the Event Management subject.
Every year, the student will organise an event as a semester project. The student will be evaluated and marked based on the work they have done. Unfortunately, universities are restricted from carrying events and activities for their students during the pandemic. To ensure a total learning experience for the students, Vatel Malaysia pivoted to online/virtual events.

The main objective of this event was to help the audience (which were the students) in learning more about the career perspectives and opportunities they can have if they decide to pursue the study in hospitality. Highlights of the event included sharing sessions from all the industry experts.
What Were They Searching For?
With the choices in the current market, Vatel hoped to pick out an easy-to-learn, interactive and comprehensive virtual event management system.
Few weeks before the event, they reached out to us. Once all deals were confirmed, we onboarded and provided the students with training so that they could start working on the event.
Most Love Features
1. User Friendliness/ Ease of Use
It only took the students an hour plus to learn the ins and outs of the Evenesis webinar platform.
Training 4 of their students, our Customer Experience (CX) representatives guided them on how the system operates as well as how to upload the content to the platform. We also provided them with some tips to make sure their event runs smoothly.
The students managed to set up the rehearsal and the actual event all by themselves with just a little assistance from our side.
2. Video Injection
This feature came in handy for the students as the event required a lot of video playback for the promo and also the sharing session. They were glad that they could pre-upload all the videos and arrange the sequence based on their event agenda before the event.
During the event day, the team was able to publish all the videos (more than 15 of them) at only a click of a button. They said the video injection feature was one of the most used features in this event.
3. Audience Engagement Tools
Another feature that was useful for the event organising team was the audience engagement tools available on our webinar platform. Chat, Sticky Message and Offer were some of the frequently used tools that they loved about.
To boost the audience excitement and engagement, the student published quizzes during the 1-hour even using our “Offer” feature. It successfully captured the audience’s attention and motivated them to participate in the quizzes.
The team was chirpy with the number of participants engaged in the published quizzes.
Moving Forward
This event has been so successful that Evenesis and Vatel Kuala Lumpur are now looking forward to more collaborations for their events and also student semester projects in the future even after the pandemic.
